Soaring Together

A Therapeutic Group for Children who have Experienced Trauma

Designed for children who have experienced trauma from abuse, loss, natural disasters, and accidents, this group is a 12-week program for children ages 5-8 that will meet weekly for 90 minutes.

By incorporating elements of existing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with the inclusion of yoga, mindfulness, and art, the purpose of this program is to help these children and their families:

  • develop positive coping skills
  • improve communication
  • and increase emotional awareness and processing.

Soaring Together is meant to complement any existing or previous individual mental health services and to incorporate parent/caregiver involvement.

Because this is a therapeutic group, health insurance will be accepted and we are contracted with the following plans:

  • Highmark and BCBS PPO
  • HealthAmerica (MHNet)
  • Medical Assistance for Centre, Mifflin, Huntingdon counties
  • Aetna

If your insurance is not listed above, please contact our office to discuss out-of-network options.

Soaring Together is designed to complement any existing or previous individual mental health services and to incorporate parent/caregiver involvement.

Soaring Together will begin Tuesday, March 15th 4:30 – 6:00pm

Several sessions will include a coinciding parent/caregiver portion.

Before attending the program, an initial individual intake appointment is required.

These appointments need to be scheduled between January 18th and March 4th.
